Much like posts, Events are editable and can be changed on-the-fly. While the plugin is in early stages it is important to be aware of some current limitations.
Changing seating capacity
Increasing the event seating capacity is fully supported at any time, however decreasing the seating capacity will not automatically cancel reservations, and may cause errors if reservations that exceed the new capacity already exist. To safely reduce seating capacity it is important to first cancel any reservations outside the intended capacity, and then reduce the event seating capacity.
Changing Event slug
The post/event slug is an important identifier in version 1.2.6 of the plugin, it is important to keep this the same after the event has been published to prevent any errors in finding and displaying reservations. In upcoming updates I am working to use other identifiers to reduce reliance on this property.
Trashing an Event
Trashing an Event will not delete or cancel existing reservations, nor will it notify users that the event has been canceled. At this time it is recommended to cancel reservations manually before trashing or deleting an Event. If the Event has already ended, then trashing the Event will function as expected. The reservations will be hidden from the “Manage Reservations” menu, but not deleted from the database.
